Why Not Gossip?
Julie Bartkus
When you gossip, the person to
whom you gossip to (no matter how great a friend he or she is) is
left with a question in his or her mind that goes something like
this: “what will they say about me behind my back?”
Gossip deteriorates your
reputation and destroys the amount of trust people have in you. You
may lose your job, customers and friends if you gossip about them
directly or indirectly.
Gossiping hurts you just as
much – if not more– than anyone else! It’s a waste of time, keeping
your thoughts and energy drenched in negativity.
Gossip takes your focus off of
where it should be - on yourself. When you pick others apart –
looking for their flaws – you’re not focusing on the changes you
need to implement into your life so that you can have a positive,
productive, and successful life.
